R.I.P. Kurt A.K.A. Kilgore Trout

Though I have not the complete library of books written by Mr. Vonnegut (19), I have enjoyed all those that I have read so far. My first book being Breakfast of Champions followed by a number of others. The last book I had enjoyed reading was Galapagos and have been looking forward for more readings from this fine author. He died yesterday of head injuries in which was the result of a fall he took at his home. He was 84. R.I.P.

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’ ” - God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.

When the last living thing
has died on account of us,
how poetical it would be
if Earth could say,
in a voice floating up
perhaps
from the floor
of the Grand Canyon,
“It is done.”
People did not like it here.
- Requiem (closing lines)

I'm really sad about his passing. I really admired him, his work, his attitudes.

It's a sad day for me too. You know he's my favorite--I wrote my master's thesis on his works.

I forgot that after I had read "Galapagos" I picked up "Hocus Pocus" which was a very enjoyable read. I've read "Breakfast of Champions" more than once so maybe that's my favorite so far.

I'm glad to know you guys who share the same interest in these authors as I do.
